    Yes,
  • Yes you can, but be gentle with your application. Store bought chalk paints usually have a binder in them so they won't rub off. Home made chalk paint or white was will wear and run with contact. I personally make my own with a modified recipe. Since it will transfer to clothing I use a a spray type finish. Not my favorite choice but avoids a mess later. The spray applied on light coats keeps the wash from distorting. Good luck!

Wax does seal the paint, but if your wanting to seal it with a glossy finish, you might want to consider a different paint, requiring less work anyway. The wax gives a nice silky smooth finish that is durable, and I make my own wax too!

Wax is NOT a sealant. It conditions the paint. I use Vintage Market and Design Chalk based Paint. Wax and the sealer. They produce a satin clear coat water sealant. It is wise to use all your products from the same company as they are made to use together.

Lowe's Valspar makes a great sealer, called clear protector. Use this on the top of furniture that gets a lot of use. Wax is beautiful, but it doesn't seal
