A Barn Wood & Barbed Wire Flag Project

Free scraps of tongue and groove barn wood and free rusty barbed wire from a good friend become a junker's rustic American flag. My flag is at home in my junk garden, just in time for the 4th of July!
The finished size of my flag is 15" x 25". You could make it smaller or larger using the same length by width proportions.
I used the bottom of a rusty coffee can and a Plaid star stencil to make the flag's star. The piece of flat metal under the star was from a thrift shop. It's a good idea to wear work gloves when using barbed wire.
Add a hanger to the back or a wire to the top to hang your flag. If you are displaying it outside, a coat of Thompson's water seal will protect it's gray weathered patina! Full tutorial on my blog post.
