I picked up this great deal, and got busy gutting it, and adding solar lights to make it a unique and pretty patio solar light.
I recently picked up this great deal--a chandelier for $2
The first step was to gut it and remove all the wires, nuts and extra parts. The most important thing here is to remember how the chandelier is put together. Taking pictures along the way may help you to remember how to put it all back together. When I first started doing this I would pull the wires from the arms, now I know it's easiest to really get in there and gut it so the wires are more easily removed.
When spray painting, you want to make sure you remove any grease or grime. The bobeches (those 5 little candle wax catchers) were really grimy. I sanded them, then wiped them off. Spray paint does not like grease, dirt, or especially DUST!
