Upstairs Anyone? How to Make a Metal Arrow Look Like a Vintage Sign

I got this col 3-D metal arrow at the Lucketts Antique Market in May and fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It was a great price ($40!!!). I really wanted a 3-D sign with words on it but I wasn't finding it. So this was the next best thing. I figured I would put wither EXIT or UPSTAIRS on it. When I got home, I realized hanging it near the front door would be difficult so UPSTAIRS it was!
I just used some deep red paint I already had on hand, a 1" square tipped brush, and some sand paper to distress. I even made the hangers out of plant stakes and eye screws I had laying around so this one-of-a-kind sign really on cost $40.
Oh, and make sure you have your husband stand under the arrow when you are hanging it to make sure there is NOOO chance of it hitting him on the head,
just sayin.
