Can anyone help me identify these flowers?

Both are perennials. The purple one is very invasive.

    The purple plant is Physostegia virginiana, or obedient plant, although some would say disobedient would be a better name because of the way it aggressively spreads when happy. I cannot tell enough from the photo to identify the bottom plant.

    Thank you Douglas. I found another post that resembles the flowers on the other plant. It was identified as balsam. The obedient plant must be very happy. I thin it out every spring.

    Doug has it right..they come in several colors...be sure to cut off the top blossoms and they will send out smaller ones down a bit farther on the stem..and rebloom..hummingbirds and bees love them..

    The top one (obedient plant) I ended up eradicating from the garden as it was taking over.
