I wanted a rug for the top of our stairs/hallway but didn't really want a runner. I also didn't want to spend a fortune on a rug. I stumbled upon these little rag rugs at a local grocery store for $1 each and inspiration struck.
I purchased four and then I used black thread I had on hand, quadrupled, to sew each of the four rugs together. Embroidery thread would work too but I didn't want to purchase anything else or get out of my pajamas to go to the store again on a Sunday evening ;-)

You can buy the rubber back in a can from WalMart, it is a spray on, and it works really good

B awfully careful at the top of stairs. Don't belief these type are safe.
