I've enjoyed learning and putting to practice basic principles of creating a vignette - also incorporating The Golden Ratio. Sometimes, though, it is o.k. to break the rules - or to bend them. I share some reasons why and how you can do this. It's all about what you love. tabletop,
Simple grouping of things I love - white pitchers, Lavender and homemade moss balls. A simple vignette - based on favorite collectibles.
When creating a vignette - You can begin by applying the basic principles of focal point, varying by height - 'The Golden Ratio' - adding textures and grouping items in odd numbers...then you can begin to edit.
It's your home, it's your collecibles - make sure you enjoy your decor and are having fun decorating.
A single item on a tabletop is more of a display, but it is perfectly o.k. I love this spot first thing in the morning when the sun rays just begin to make lacy shadows.
Incorporate statement pieces - what you like to collect or if you what to try what's trendy.
It's fun to group unusual things - tell a story with your decor - in this picture - summertime to me includes bird watching and fishing, so I used items that represented that.
