DIY Hairpin Leg Table

My husband and I recently built this hairpin leg table for our kitchen's breakfast nook and we are so happy with it. I love the clean, modern look it gives to our kitchen, and my husband loves that it only took us a few hours to complete!
The table top was easy to build, and inexpensive since we made it using plywood. It's the "nice" plywood- the kind that's a hardwood, not the super splintery stuff. But it costs far less than going with a regular hardwood. It's thin though, much thinner than I was wanting for our table top, so we had to build out the sides by attaching extra strips of plywood to the underside of the table top to fake a thicker look.
We used iron-on wood veneer to cover the sides and make it look like the table top was one solid piece of wood.
Attaching the hairpin legs and giving the top a custom stain color were the final steps to completing the table. All the details to this table build are on my blog!
