DIY Aromatherapy Spa Pillow

Give yourself a little spa pampering! Make an aromatherapy neck pillow using household items. Even if you're not crafty, you can still make one of these in 15 minutes or less!

A soothing neck pillow - you can even warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds for tired muscles.

Here's how to make a warm compress.

You'll need 2-3 cups of rice, a sock, a few drops of essential oils (I like lavender and peppermint, which is a great combo for headaches), and a needle and thread to sew it shut. (If you absolutely cannot sew, use a bit of yarn and tie it tightly shut instead!)

This video will walk you through exactly what to do! You can also visit the blog post for more info.

Your tutorial shows every detail except threading the needle! Very good. I would put two cups of rice and the oils in a quart jar with a lid and shake for a minute to blend the scents. Then back to a measuring cup or something with an even bigger spout to pour the rice into the sock. I know you can put this in fridge or freezer for a cold compress, but could you heat it in a microwave for a warm compress? Best wishes 😇

Add long ties to either end. Now it can be tied around the waist for back heating.

I have used rice socks for heat therapy for years now. I pat a bit of water on the outside of the sock and place in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes. Check after 2 minutes to see how much longer to leave it for your personal heat preference. The most therapy works great on my neck and hip. Rice helps the heat to contour with your body and get in those hard to reach places. LOVE it. I have even given ones to friends. I tie a pretty ribbon around the knot just cause !!
