From Frightening to Fabulous: Dresser Makeover

A partly new / partly old dresser has joined our household. How can it be both, you ask? In 1990 my brother rented his first college apartment and needed a dresser for his room. My mom can’t remember where she purchased this dresser but it most likely came from a yard sale. After his college years, the dresser was no longer needed and my mom stored it in her barn. Last summer I pulled this covered in filth and water damaged dresser from the barn and just finished giving it a new life.
The dresser drawers look like wicker and are trimmed in faux bamboo. The drawer pulls are also faux bamboo.
We were able to use the drawers of the dresser but decided to build a new cabinet for it since the old one was delaminating and the plastic dresser slides were broken.
A buffing wheel on a table top grinder was used to polish the hardware. We like the shiny but rustic look that they have after the polishing.
