DIY Metal Accent Table

High style accent table on a budget! We can always find gorgeous silver platters at estate sales. Here is the perfect way to combine a silver platter and a clearance TJ Maxx table base!
The finished accent table using a vintage silver platter and a clearance table base. It is a perfect piece for displaying a key collection or a resting place for your favorite book.
The two pieces prior to combining them. I love how they both shine. There is a neat scrolling detail throughout the platter and hobnail details on the handles which I show at the end of this post.
You will need to find the center of the platter by measuring from each outer edge. This is an important to adhere the base with an equal portion of platter on all sides. E6000 was my go to adhesive for this project. Let this dry upside down for a few hours to properly adhere.
In this photo you can see the pattern of the platter along with the hobnail details on the handles. It seemed to be well cared for and was a great estate sale find.

I am in love. I have a pretty platter my aunt made my mother many many years ago and have been trying to think of a way to display it other that on the wall. I so pray I can find a base. What do you think of using the paint that makes things look like metal after painted?
