DIY Vintage Quote Sign

Since I love to create, I am always looking for ways to create the items I want/need for room makeovers so that I don't have to spend a lot of money. I am currently redecorating my living room, and I needed some large art to go over my fireplace. The problems is that large art can be very expensive. Luckily, I was able to create this piece of art using supplies I already had plus $12 of new supplies. That's the beauty of DIY!
This large sign looks vintage, but it's brand new! The trick to the vintage look is layering paint and sanding A LOT.
The sign started as a $7 board from Lowe's.
I designed the graphic for my sign using PicMonkey, free fonts, and a couple of free graphic embellishments.
The sign really does look vintage because of the layers of paint, the worn spots, and the aged spots. Check out the blog post to see how I achieved the vintage look.
