About Me:

...I have now taken my life long passion & hobby of Photography & have infused it with my new found passion of Gardening and Flowers. Walking My Garden With Camera In Hand, Is By Far The Greatest Therapy. I'm a novice gardnerer, of only 3 years & truthfully, Never would I have ever imagined that I would have ever taken up gardening as a second hobby But here I am; Now not a day goes by that I'm not in my garden! Walking my front and back yard in the morning, looking at my flowers that were mostly grown by seed or bulbs myself, brings me not only great satisfaction but also pure enjoyment and solice! I'm very at peace when I'm working in my garden. What I've learned in the 3 years of my gardening, I've learned from other gardeners but mainly by going to the Library & taking out Gardening Books researching all the flowers I planted & more as well as also learned the other major basics to gardening to keep your garden flourishing! I have learned a great deal, but I'm still with out a doubt, a Novice and have so much that I need to learn & excited to do so! I'm also a New Homeowner of 3 Yrs; A Home in which took me 15 Years to Save & Purchase, so Now that I'm finally A New Home Owner, I love taking Pride In My Long Awaited Home! So I love learning new quick, easy, simple ideas in which to improve my Home, In Which Also gives me much Delight!

you many deheaded sunflower heads, dry them out for you and can sent you well more than a handful if you like....I not only supplied myself with enough seeds for my garden and all my neighbors....But I still have sooooo many more blooming, I would love knowing that you had sunflowers next year because of flowers me and my 4 year old son planted this year! ;)

Well...I answered this question in the zinnia pic prior.....These are by seed.... Believe it ...»
or not....this fence is about 30-35 feet and I only planted abotu 10-12 Zinnia Seeds!!! And yes, this is the result. Same thing as last year, but this year, It was a lot more fuller in my inner garden as well bc of the dropped deheaded flowers that I threw right onto the soil and some are actually reseeded from last year. :)

Susan....Zinnia's are a must!!!! For starters, THEY ARE THE MOST EASIEST TO GROW....The ...»
Quickest to Sprout and plant by seed....They start blooming in late Spring and mine are still flourshing and Last to fall. The more you dead head, the more they sprout new stems with buds!!! see this entire section of Zinnia's...I only planted about 10-12 Zinnia seeds, along side my entire fence in late April.....And this photo is from June and they are still flourshing! :) My opinion Zinnia's are a must in any garden.....and CACTUS Zinnia's personally are my favorite...But I plant them all....regular Zinnia's, Zinnia Tumbalina's, Zinnia Pinwheels....same flower, smaller version....nice for ground flowers and/or Containers, And by far my favorite, Cactus Zinnia's, which I believe are in my first album. :)

Dear Sherrie....Awww..so kind and yes, so sad to watch all my hard work diminish and fade away ...»
starting now.... Last year, we had a huge snow storm right before Halloween and it destroyed my whole entire garden....This year, cross our fingers...all my fall flowers are still coming up, blooming and thriving....as well as my zinnia's & Sunflowers!!! As for coming back....believe it or not... A lot of my Annuals, did come back, such as my Zinnia's & Sunflowers.....Last year when I deheaded my Zinnia's, I just dropped faded flowers right onto the ground and believe it or not, aside from the seeds I planted this year, I had spurts of Zinnia flowers throught out my garden. And last year, I had planted a sunflower in this particluar spot and because some of the seeds dropped from the birds I ended up with about 6-7 Sunflowers in the same spot. I do have Perennials....but I planted a lot of seeds this year and it wasn't until late this year once summer started that I learned that when you plant Perennial Seeds....the greenery blooms the first year and it's not until the second year that they bloom....once I knew that....I was anxious to see Blooms so I planted more flowers....But I just learned how to save Marigold Seeds as well as Cosmo seeds....Wait for the flower to completely dry out.....Cut and dehead the flowers....peal back the flower pods, and in just one flower head, you'll see COUNTLESS of seeds, as many as that are in an envelope. So I put some in envelopes to plant next year....But at the same time, I also walked around and just threw the seeds in my wildflower sections and around my tree's in the circle garden! Try it this year with your faded Annuals', you'll be happily surprised next year! ;)

Dresser turned Vanity

We bought an antique dresser at a thrift shop for $50. We decided to turn it into a vanity for our master bath. I painted the dresser and my husband added a sink and faucet.

TRYING TO PROPAGATE A TRUSTY RUSTY COLEUS...NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE.

I mistakenly snapped a piece of my Trusty Rusty Coleus and now trying to propagate it. It is a pretty long stem so I took all the leaves off except for what you see and put it in a bottle of water. I read that it should take about 2 weeks before I see roots growing. Any suggestions?

Great Job Pamela...& Fyi, Mine worked as well as in also thriving in a Container. So I suppose ...»
in answer to all our questions, we have come to learn we can proprogate a coleus in water waiting for roots to be established, and/or cutting of a 4" stem with only 2-3 sets of leaves directly into soil and it will emerge. (I lost a Dahlia stem so I decided to attempt to root cut it, this time like Pamela in water also very successful! So thanks everyone, for you not only helped Pamela but you also helped me. These were my first rooting cuttings! Congrats Pamela!

Cute Idea....Going to do this as An Arts & Crafts Project with my 4 Yr old as a gift for my ...»
Mother in law who leaves down by the Jersey Shore and every visit they collect sea shells together & she's also loves a good flower pot....so I can glue as my son places the sea shells they collected through out the years onto the pot for her! Very cute!!!!!! Did you find it better to use the glue gun to just glue the rims onto the pot...or did they hold better directly onto the shell! Then again, I suppose it's trial and error....But Thanks for the very great idea!
