Happy Mother's Day ~ Garden Tour

Happy Mother's Day to all my wonderful readers, I hope it is a lovely day for each and every one of you! This little garden tour is my tribute to mothers everywhere, who often put their ...»
own wants and needs aside for those they love. Thank you for rocking the babies through the night, doing your work and chores with little ones at your heels, helping each one feel like the favorite and being the anchor of our families. Without a mother's love this would be a sad world indeed.

Have a sweet day doing what you like the most with the ones you love!

Years ago we lived on a little farmette surrounded by woods, Dyanne ...»
, and had trouble with deer too. I don't know if you can, but we got a pair of geese and hey patrolled our property like crazy and chased deer off! We called them the "Mobile Fertilization Units" and their names were Marta and Otto!

How about screwing on a tray on the top of each and using them as little side tables or planters?

  • An old ironing board that I recently painted white makes a great out door vignette on the patio.
  • I plan to drill a small hole in the ironing board top to slip the hanger wire through so it won't blow off.
  • I used a laundry basket shaped container for the Rose Star Calibrachoa.

Pressing Garden Matters

I recently painted an old wooden ironing board to use on my patio in a vignette. #Summerstyle

Plumbing Material Succulent Garden

Sometimes when roaming through the hardware store aisles, I get strange looks. Because I end up buying a whole group of galvanized plumbing caps - as planters for a succulent garden.

Fairy Garden

This is my first attempt at a fairy garden. I think it still needs something. I'll have to give it some time to come to me. Can't wait to make more from ideas on other clips.

  • One section of the garden where the clematis, bleeding heart and forget me nots thrive.
  • Bleeding Heart is in it's glory right now.
  • This plant will die down after it blooms if it's in full sun. But since ours is in shade, it will stay green all summer
  • Although this plant is considered invasive, by thinning it after it's finished blooming I can keep the forget-me-nots in control.
  • Tiny forget-me-not flowers add an airy blue to the front of the border in May and June.
  • This unnamed viburnum is putting on quite a show right now.
  • Once the flowers die back, it's followed by little burgundy berries which the birds love in the winter.
  • We have mostly white lilacs in our garden. They are quite fragrant right now
  • This lovely little columbine is just beginning to bloom.

Mid-May in My Garden

The flowering shrubs have been exceptional this year. First it was the magnolia but now the lilacs and viburnum are putting on their show.
