Add a Bar to a Kitchen Island

I had an IKEA kitchen island for our current rental. I had always wanted it to have a bar, a place where my kids could eat breakfast and lunch and not mess up the kitchen table every time. But the butcher block top of the island was not big enough to have any legroom and eat comfortably. So I took a simple pine board, cut it to length, and attached it.
I used a Kreg Jig to attach the two boards together.
Then I bought some corbels at Home Depot to add some support.
I refinished the two boards in the same finish, and voila! A new bar!
