Estimate for Tyvek wrap/insulation/vinyl sidings/gutters & downspouts

All of the above was installed in 1999. I'm selling my home & my Realtor suggested I create a list of all home improvements I've made & the cost associated with the improvements. I don't have/can't find the bill for the work done in 1999 & the company is out of business so I'm trying to get a ball park figure. Was hoping to find a website where I could provide info on the house (2-story colonial, 2104 sq ft # of windows, etc) to calculate the cost of removing all old siding, install Tyvek wrap, insulation, vinyl siding (incl dryer vent, etc). Is there such a site?

  • Yes there is. Home Depot has a free construction estimator that is fairly accurate and easy to use. You can access it from their pro page. It also has a paid option. Its per/use, and costs about $20. The name is eagleview, and it will make the process very easy. The program uses satilite images to compile a 3d rendering of your house. It is designed for roofers, and siding remodelers for the most part. It will give you the areas of every surface on the exterior of your house, and even subtract the openings for you. Then it inputs itself into the estimate you've created in the free estimator. Your only issue will be the fact that remodeling prices have risen about 30% or more since 1999. This might seem complicated but I promise it is very easy. If you need help using the programs feel free to contact me. I never charge for advice.

  • http://www.homedepot.com/c/professional_contractor There is a box on the right hand side "Pro Tools" towards the bottom. Click "use the home depot estimator" radio button. http://www.eagleview.com/portals/0/portalcontent/SR_2400_Prem_Wal.pdf Here is a sample of the report. It has all the information you are looking for. The complete report is 88 I think? Hope this helps.
