Ladder application to concrete fiber siding

I want to paint my house, but I am afraid of cracking/damaging the concrete fiber siding with the pressure of the ladder up against it. Is there a best placement tip for the end of the ladder to avoid this? Will the siding hold up no matter where i place the ladder? Thanks!

  • I assume your talking about an EIFS sided home or even a shingled style with the cement boards? Simply wrap towels on the top of each ladder side where the ladder strikes the wall so the hard metal on the ladder does not rub into the finish. You will be fine. There is really not that much pressure against the siding its all pushing down into the ground. You can also take a ladder stand off and fasten a long board from one side to the other so it spans a long distance so there is a shared pressure on the wall. But two small hand towels will do the trick. Use duct tape to hold them on.
