Front door color

I have a white house with black shutters and want to paint the front door a muted golden yellow. Will that color work?

Yellow, white and black should work, but you don't want to go too muted because it will just come out sort of dirty looking. You may want to get a pretty bright yellow in a bright tone with a less green tint! In other words, lemon yellow can be garish so you might want to pick a softer color but not school bus yellow! Confused? Sorry.

Thanks,I didn't want the door too shiny or bright so that is why I thought a muted color would work. Every time I tried to check to see if there was more to your answer 'Report this comment' popped up. Hope this doesn't cause any problem.

Agree with Jeanette. Yellow tones are tricky. I, too, would go with a brighter tone rather than too muted.
