  • Here are the floors before. When I started my low budget porch makeover I had to have a super cheap way to brighten up the existing floors... 3

  • Last summer my husband and I planted our first garden, a compact container garden between our driveway and house. 1
  • You can imagine how upset we were when something started eating our produce before we had a chance to.
  • My mother said it might be slugs and to get rid of them by getting them drunk. All you do is to fill small plastic containers with beer. Don't worry. The slugs will drink any kind.
  • Right before dark, dig small holes and position the containers so that they are even with the soil. Then fill them with beer. The slugs are attracted to the sweetness of it. They will crawl in to have a drink, and then they drown.
  • I got over 50 slugs in each container, and I only needed to do this two nights. Then they were completely gone. I knew that if other slugs appeared, I could repeat the process. 2

Did the Slugs/Snails Enjoy Eating Up Your Garden Last Summer?

Here's a simple and environmentally friendly way to get rid of them, and you probably have it in your frig right now. It's simple - beer. You have to use it in a special way. See how here: http://the2seasons.com/2012/06/05/lets-get-d...

I tried this a few years ago. I ended up with empty containers and two drunk puppies.

Craft Closet Makeover

We are turning a small 12x12 bedroom into my craft/office room in our home. We started the process by turning the reach-in closet into my new craft closet. To make it look less like a ...»
closet, we removed the header. This really opened up the space and made it easier for me to see and reach the upper shelves. To see more of this makeover, click on the link.

Little flowers from my yard

These grow around my yard, and usually around late May / early June they flower. Does anyone knows its name?

It looks like one entered in the horticulture class of our last flower show. The person who ...»
entered it called it a "Naked Lady Lily" There was no botanical name supplied, so I looked it up. http://www.arhomeandgarden.org/plantofthewee...

Yours looks the same, however, there are many similar looking lilies out there.

Updates on repurposed birdbath sedum

I repuposed a birdbath this Spring and put three different types of Sedum in it. A few people commented that they wanted to do the same thing but weren't sure how it would fare.....well ...»
here are some updated pics of how mine made it through the summer....I'm quite happy with it....(pls disregard the leaves that have fallen in the flower bed, that's a never ending battle for me unfortunately) The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is the burgundy colored sedum doesn't show much color and I don't know if it's because it doesn't get enough sun? or what the problem is with it?? otherwise, it looks great in my opinion! lol.

I have a birdbath that won't hold water for more than a day. I'm doing this tomorrow!
