Does anyone know what these bugs are? They have devoured my lilies!

Does anyone know what these bugs are? They have devoured my lilies! I have never seen anything like these and they are quite disgusting!

    I'm not really sure, but they look like the larva of the Leaf Beetle. The are disgusting little creatures aren't they?

    You have Lily Beetle, what you are showing in the picture is Poop-covered larvae, they are a real problem here in New England, I have tried all kinds of spray the only one that works so far is Bayer Advanced, dual action Rose and Flower Insect Killer it comes in a blue spray bottle

    I could not get the photo in the other reply, this is what you have to look for, it will only eat oriental lilies not day lilies, oh well the photo disappeared

    This is the first year in several that we haven't been inundated with those red beetles. Another way to fight them is with diatomaceous earth that is used in inground pool filters. It's like a powder and does work.

    Those red beetles are killing lilies up here, too. Bright red, flatter than a lady bug. Have had to inspect my lilies every day and do them in manually.
