Hallway Console Redo #PaintJob

Medium
A while ago a client of mine asked me to refinish a a buffet that she had in her front hallway. She wanted to update the entryway and find a way to "make it pop". I decided I would convince her to use a color I've been wanting to use for a long time! Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in Emperor's Silk! Are you a fan of the "pop of color", or do you prefer something more conservative?
The "Before". It had structural damage to its legs from water damage, and a door that wouldn't properly close. It also needed new hardware.
The inspiration for the color was a piece of artwork in the same hallway.
After structurally reinforcing it and fixing the damage, I gave it a few coats of AS CHALK PAINT in Emperor's Silk, then dark waxed it. Here's a tip, when using red paint, always prime the piece with either grey or a dark slate. It helps the paint job go on more smoothly. Here's the finished product!
As you can see, the front door is also red, which ties in the the whole room very well together.
