Making Over an Empire

My client said she was having a hard time selling this sweet little Empire dresser at her store. It was suffering from damaged veneer, broken drawer bottoms, and really outdated hardware. We both decided it was time for a facelift and now it's sitting pretty, ready for a new home!
Before. Lovely tiger oak veneers, but one whole side was warped and cracked, almost from top to bottom, down the middle and both top drawers were almost off and missing a quarter inch of veneer along the bottom edge. Someone had replaced the original hardware with shiny brass pulls.
After. I think it looks fresh and the small amount of distressing emphasizes the pretty details.
I kept the existing hardware and simply sprayed it, but changed out the knobs for this vintage pattern.
The top was in nice condition so I sanded it down to the bare wood and then sealed it with hemp oil. It looks amazing!
