Farmhouse Kitchen Details

My recent kitchen renovation is a mix of a French, English and farmhouse. Beadboard, shaker cupboards, honed marble and a dash of barn yard whimsy!
Instead of tile backsplash for the gas ranch, I used a piece of honed marble left over from the counter tops and topped that off with a framed oil painting of sheep. It was a find at a local tag sale for 10 dollars.
A piglet and her babies, and another vintage print of sheep, frame the upper portion of the range hood, simple in detail.
French bistro style counter stools are painted black, to harmonize with the other black harlequin check in the kettle and a few other Mackenzie Child's kitchen accessories. Tiered metal stands topped by a bird figurine further echo the farmhouse style.
A sitting area adjacent to the counter accommodates seating for casual relaxing. A sisal rug, toile patterned upholstery and cotton duck coverings all echo the farmhouse/English country style, or did I say French?
Tufted ottomans in cotton duck on castors, can be moved readily for extra seating.
A little touch of elegance is achieved with a former dining room table cut down to cocktail table height. Painted white and distressed
More country English touches.
I hope you enjoyed a short tour of my country/English/French kitchen! N.
