Loft Guest Room

A couple of summers ago our grandchildren (teenagers) were coming to spend a couple of months with us and we needed to fix a nice little space they would be able to call home while they were here. We proceeded to fix the unused loft space into a useable and fun place for them for that summer.
First off we made a seating area where they could sit and watch TV, play games, read or just chill out when they needed to . We had this unused patio set that I recovered with a twin comforter and some added lime fabric I had. The two tables were thrift store finds that we painted in the vibrant colors of fabric to make them fun and retro looking.
Across from the seating area we placed a TV unit I found on Craigslist for $50. I placed all the TV, gaming systems, games, board games and books for easy and organized access for them to use.
At the opposite end we placed the sleeping area. My son made the two beds - one being a trundle and the other having extra underbed drawer storage. The comforters I had from our previous guest room at another home. I had bought this old trunk at a thrift store for $25 and my son built a stand for it to bring it to bedside table height. It also stores extra blankets and such if they need them.
This is a long view of the room and shows the armoir we were able to pick up at a thrift store for $100. I repainted it to match with the decor. It has a huge amount of storage in it and they were able to stay organized with throughout their stay.
I love the way it turned out to be such a fun, funky and retro room for our teens to have a great place to stay at the beach. To see more details check out my blog at the link below.
