Beach Inspired Porch

We moved to the beach a couple years back and I just love to use it as inspiration for my decor - especially my summer decor. Here, is how it inspired my porch decor this year.
I started by making this Beach Life sign out of shims and painting them. I love placing signs on the old mirror I turned into a chalkboard.
I painted an old oar in the blues and whites I love to use and added it to the porch. Along with a drop cloth and chevron banner. I stenciled little boats and stars on the plain flags and sewed all of them on to a length of twine.
For the door I just wrapped a grapevine wreath I had with raffia and added few shells I had to it. Not too fussy - just very laid back beach style.
To finish it off I just added a palm I had in the dining room and some shells including an old abalone shell of my Mother's . I love the way it depicts the beach - and how fun it is when we come home. To see more details of this makeover you can go to the link below.
