#DIYGifts: Serving Tray Upcycle (#HometalkEveryday)

Medium
Ever since I bought a house my parents and grandparents have gotten in the habit of giving me boxes of junk every time I see them, and because I'm such a hoarder only about half of it makes it into the donation pile.
In the most recent box, was an old rooster serving tray-- which was in good structural condition but completely not my style and a little banged up.
I think the quote makes this upcycle just a little bit more fun. Just load up the tray with some hot cocoa supplies and wrap- a perfect, thoughtful gift for the holidays!
BEFORE: The rooster tiles were totally not me, and the sides were a little bubbly and scratched so I decided to paint it. I used Zinsser spray primer and Rustoleum Lagoon spray paint, then painted the tile white.
It was just a little too blah after I painted it, so I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some vinyl letters and then I coated it with 2 coats of poly to seal.
I think it's SO much fresher and more fun now, what about you?

Isn't it amazing how that quote from Seinfeld is instantly recognisable and resonates with so many people who watched the show and yet the show finished ages ago. My husband and I often find ourselves quoting from that show and I am sure many others do too. Love your take on that tray!
