Looking Good?

July can be a hot, humid month in Vermont. Everything is going to seed and the weeds are in full competition with the vegetables. If there was ever a year I should have taken off from gardening this should have been it. We have had to do a lot of traveling and it seems like we haven’t been home on the weekends. As a result it’s hard to stay on top of the weeds and we have several projects to complete before fall arrives.
Let your lettuce go to seed, the seeds are easy to collect and you can plant them next year for a new lettuce crop!
The blueberry have been kept damp and mulched and as a result we will have a good crop of blueberries!
Using mulch is a good way to stay on top of your weeds. It also helps retain moisture in your garden. As you can see we got the weeds puled for the most post, now to get the corn patch mulched!
I love our natural hummingbird feeder and so do the hummingbirds!
