Get Rid of Moths in 3 Easy Steps

Moths are like the Honda Civic of the bug world. They’re everywhere. When the drab, brown cousins of butterflies invade your space, you may be tempted to swat, and then get instantly frustrated when they fly just out of your reach. There’s a better way!
Here’s how to vacuum those little buggers up and out of your life. All you need is a vacuum with a detachable hose.

1) Cut the Lights

Moths are attracted to light, which is why you see them congregating by your light bulbs. Turn on some soothing Marvin Gaye, hit the lights and give the moths a moment to settle. If you keep the lights off the moth will pause on the wall, which is exactly where you want it to be for the next step.

2) Get the Vacuum Hose Ready

Unhook the vacuum hose and hold it a few inches from the moth while the lights and vacuum are still off. If you turn on the lights or the vacuum, the moth will start flying around again. So, keep everything off until you’re ready to pounce.

3) Turn on the Vacuum

When you’re ready, turn on the vacuum and suck up the moth before it has time to fly away. Boom! Moths no more.

Tip: It’s a good idea to go outside and empty your vacuum bin or change out the bag. The moths sometimes survive the vacuuming experience and could breed in your vacuum bin.

I keep a bottle of windex at my hand when moths ,flies or spiders are around. One blast of the windex and your carefree at last. Pick them up in a tissue and toss.
