Use up some fabric scraps to make a unique and rustic cowhide knock off pillow. You can be creative with the shapes and sewing!
Here is a Ballard Designs cowhide pillow knock off. I used left over fabric scraps to create a cowhide look and a decorative zig-zag stitch to the top of the rows to add a rustic look.
Gather fabric in the colors you want to use. Sew lengths of different color fabric together in any order. Then cut them to the size you want your shapes to be on the pillow. From these pieces, I cut 1" x 3" rectangles. These form the rows on the front of the pillow.
Then sew the shapes together to a backing and add a decorative detail stitch on top. Put together a pillow backing and then pillow inside and you are set.
