Indoor Hammock?

Anne
by Anne
My favorite place to relax is in my hammock strung between two trees in the back yard. Here in Atlantic Canada our winters are usually six months long despite what the calendar tells us.
I would love to be able to hang my hammock indoors, but am concerned about safety. I do not want to use a hammock stand. How would I ensure that I am securing the hanging hardware in studs? I have not found a stud finder (as sold in a hardware store) to be very reliable in my 80 year old house.

Hi Anne! Could you upload a photo of your hammock/area you want to put it in? That will make it easier for other hometalkers and myself to give you better answers and ideas! You can add photos by clicking the upper right drop arrow and select "edit" (see screenshot). Hope this helps! :)

Are you wanting to attach it to the walls, say in a corner, or are you intending to attach it to the ceiling? Either way, you should be able to find locations from the attic and/or the basement. You can get some very slim nails (very small) and once you have an approximate location, do some test "bores" with the nails, the holes which can easily be patched.

Thank you - I will try that Jeanette.
