Not Your Ordinary Painted Countertops!

With just some paints and the proper top coating you can have beautiful hard coated counter tops. I started this DIY journey planning on a faux Granite look but after I did one counter it did look like granite but I was not pleased with it so I played around with the paints until I achieved the farm house kitchen look that I was going for. Don't like your kitchen counters? New ones not in the budget? Why not try DIY counter tops?
I used 4 top coats of Polyurethane to insure a strong hard top . No , I would not cut on it but it will withstand allot of use.
I made this checkered pattern using a flat cutting edge painters block. white primer then 2 coats of white Rust-oleum a wash of a coffee color and then the same coffee color of paint stamped on to make the blocks.
An inexpensive way to get a custom counter look.
Along the counters edge I stenciled forks, knives and spoons just for fun.
I know that farm house is not for everyone, but designs can be limitless to match your décor.
