How do you clean melted aluminum foil from the bottom of the oven?
-
Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 19, 2014The self cleaning feature on ovens has a finish that tends to feel a bit rough on the surface. I have been told its designed that way in order for it to properly clean when taken up to super high temps that cleaning requires. In any case, most likely the aluminum foil has melted into the nooks and crannies that this surface provides. You cannot scrape it off, nor cook it off as it will not vaporize into dust with the high heat. I hate to say, you may need a new panel on the bottom of the oven. They are removable, some are fastened with screws, most simply lift and pull out. You may want to remove this bottom panel and see if using a stiff scrub brush will loosen the foil. Just do not super heat it again. Remember the baking operation is heat that comes from under the metal pan that you covered with the foil So it always gets real hot when the oven is turned onHelpful Reply

Stephanie Sheetz on Jul 19, 2014Thank you for the response, I kind of figured I would have to get a new panel. I just wasn't thinking when I first got the stove, I just did what I had always done to my previous self clean oven. Thanks again :)Helpful Reply
