Pretty Pink Peonies

I always look forward to the peonies blooming in the Spring. Although their flowers are short lived, there is nothing that compares to their large showy blossoms.
Their sweet fragrance drifts through out the garden, especially early in the morning. Gorgeous blossoms and sweet fragrance ~ who wouldn't want that as part of their garden?

hi, love peonies like you! here's one for ya: how do you pronounce peonies? mom was from PA so she always said, peonies (like peon) with the emphasis on nies; me I'm a Virginian so I always say peonies (with emphasis on the "on" like ohnies). what do you say? and whats right? thanks!

Peonies are my favorite flower alongside the rose.

Strange fact is that they can't open their buds without the help of the ants. So the gorgeous blossom is a co-operative effort. Live and let live.

To bring the peony fragrance & beauty inside without 🐜 ants, invert the blooms into a pitcher of water. Don’t forget the little ants! pour the ant water in the garden. Keep your cut peonies fresh longer in a vase of water with plenty of ice.
