How do you organize your patterned paper?

Hello! I am sitting here with a small pile of patterned paper on my lap, and beside me is a file folder zip up organizing thingy FULL of patterned paper. Currently, I have my patterned paper organized by colour and special occasions, birthdays, Christmas etc. I'm thinking of re-organizing it and I want to try something different this time. Any suggestions or tips?

I like to organize by Company. I usually buy sets of paper, with a die cut sheet, maybe stickers etc. I keep it together because it all matches and will blend easily without searching through all my paper. I have cubes with 5 shelves each for paper and can keep paper by company together on a shelf. It sounds like maybe you could store your papers in one of the cropper hopper dividers and still keep it by company.

Mine are organized according to main item on page (flowers, geo patterns, stripes, squares, etc.) For theme patterns, I break my down into seasons (ok, holidays!), girls/babies, pets, travel etc. My stickers are in binders the same way (babies, bears, borders, seasons, etc. Alphabets are in a separate folder. If you can't find the cropper hopper (I do with dividers), you can always use the USPS boxes seen on Pinterest or cut cereal boxes up.

Mine are sorted by theme and size as well as seasons. then further broken down by colors. Still searching for affordable storage system where papers are easy to access and are in protective containers that allow you to see at a glance what's there.

Mine are organized by color and also holiday. I have over 20 12x12 boxes labeled and holding the different papers.
  • I'd put them in hanging folders in a file cabinet and I have them organized and labeled by color or season or occasion.
