Over at Zest it Up, we adore repurposing and thrifting!

When Sam and I go junking, I always try to keep at least one eye out for original artwork. I guess it is the treasure hunter in me...especially since my favorite aunt actually bought a piece at a yard sale for $5 and then turned around and sold it at auction for $30,000. Gulp!

These two pieces completely grabbed my attention because they were signed with my daughter's name. They are also some rather precious watercolors.

Since they looked a tad stuck in the 70's, I decided to use some "new" Pottery Barn frames that I found at GoodWill. All that was left to Zest these beauties was to Mod Podge the old mattes.

Simple projects require simple supplies. A paint brush, Mod Podge, and some craft paper!

Tear the craft paper and layer them onto the matte with Mod Podge.

Paint the backside of the paper and continue to layer.

Remember to do a final coat of Mod Podge as a clear coat to add a little bit of polish.

I love how it turned out!!

The texture is fabulous.
Thanks for checking out what we are Zesting!
