$250 Room Makeover

Omar De Pablo
by Omar De Pablo
This room is located in my church. After years of transitioning between classroom and storage, I finally decided to give it an identity.
- Armoire - Curb side find that started as a dresser with missing top drawer
- Trunk - Curb side find that needed some TLC
- Bench - Thrift store throw away. Forth chair was broken. Cushions from curb side couch. Couch was clean, but material ripped in several places. Took bottom cushions and cut in half for bench sitting.
- Frames -All upcycled thrift store finds
- Yellow Chair - $14 Ethan Allen thrift store find. Took off dated skirting to expose wooded legs
- Tree Trunk Lamp Table - Road side find. Debarked, dryed, sanded and stained. Legs are upcycled legs from a road side trash find (was a walker).
- Crates - Curb side pallet find
- Trunk Tray - Pallet and upcycled drawer pulls. Mason jars were saved from spaghetti dinner and cover in upcycled chicken wire
- Wall Chair Railing - upcycled from a previous renovation.
- Grass Pot - Loaf Pan
- Hurricane Lamps - Thrift store glass vases and Dollar store candle sticks
- Lighting – Track lighting give to me.
- Picture - Some pictures are upcycled bibles overlayed with biblical artwork
- Only new things bought - Rug, pillows, material for bench, paint and lamp shade.
It’s typically my goal to stay around $200 for major room renovations. The paint put me over budget, but can’t complain the room looks like $500 plus was spent.
