Do You Have a Vintage Bike You Want to Upcycle?

She was tossed on the side of the road like a forgotten memory. Though it no longer gave the owner pleasure, I was thrilled to find it and stash it in the car.
She was made when everything was made in AMERICA. Built well and sturdy and made to LAST.
It only took me 3 years to dress her up in pink and flowers and shine in my yard.
She's in nearly perfect shape and I almost didn't paint her for that reason alone.

First I washed her up really well because paint won't stick to dirt! LOL

Then I gave her a thorough coating of white primer and let it dry. I suggest ALWAYS USE PRIMER or you could be very sorry when the beautiful paint job you did starts pealing.

I didn't want her to rust any time soon so I really gave her a double coating of primer.
Followed by 3 cans of pink paint because I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed every bit of her sturdy body!

Then came the fun part! Adding the darker pink polka dots. I didn't want to over do it so I only did the some of her in dots.

Finally I added a clear coat to all the parts I covered in polka dots so they would last.
Recently, I came up with another idea on how to dress her and will be having an update and you will love it, I promise!

I am just waiting for my order to come in to add to her loveliness.

She makes me smile every time I look at her in the garden.

You will love upcycling your vintage bike too and wonder why you didn't do it sooner!
