Black appliances with white cabinets

I'm painting my orangey oak cabinets white in the kitchen. Will my black appliances look awful with the white? I'm replacing my dishwasher, garbage disposal and oven/stove but the fridge and microwave aren't that old and are black.

They make some wonderful appliance paints Shirley, You or a professional painter can change the colors of those appliances quickly.

Oh, I did it and absolutely love it. I did a black floor in "car showroom" tile, softer. My appliances are mostly white, except my double oven which was here when we bought the house. You won't be sorry. Oh, I spray painted my cabinet hardware black.

It will look great. White and black are classic and trimming out as Lesley pointed out will also help make the look cohesive. Black appliances are great in any color kitchen (I went back to black after stainless and never will go back) good luck!

I think it will look fabulous. Black and white is so classic and neutral enough to give you lots of choices if you want to add an accent color in rugs, accessories or artwork etc. I'm very visual so pictures really help me when I'm unsure of a decorating decision. If you are unsure and need visual confirmation, just google images of "black appliances with white cabinets." I think you'll find lots of lovely examples that will ease your mind.

If you take a look at Simply Vintageous' blog she is a big fan of black and white and has just finished renovating her kitchen, it looks gorgeous! She also has some lovely furniture makeovers in those colours if you need any more inspiration. Good luck with your cupboards :-)

Shirley, they'll look great. And with the basic black and white, you'll be able to change the look with just a few pops of color whenever you want. I have black appliances and love 'em.
