DIY Faux Crank Table

When I was redoing my living room I decided I wanted to build a new table. Originally I was going to make a plumbers pipe table similar to the plumbers pipe bench I made. But I came across an antique Crank Table that I loved. I couldn't get this table out of my mind but who has $20k to spend on a piece of furniture? Not me! So I decided I would make my own version of one of these crank tables.
I had most of the materials already on hand to build this. The antique wheel I found online for $9.00 I spray painted it in bright red. The "handle" on the wheel is actually from a meat grinder I never used.
My drawing I made up when I decided to build this table.
I painted the base in a metallic spray paint. Between the base and top is plumbers pipe and flanges.
The top is a piece of wood my neighbor had laying in their basement ;) I love shopping their basement for my projects, they actually yell at me if I go to the home improvement store before checking with them to see if they have what I need! Awesome neighbors or what?

I'd never heard of a crank table either, but I'm glad you made us aware of it! I love it! If I can just find the right kind of a wheel, the rest of it shouldn't be difficult for an old lady like me to make. I'd like it attached to my Island as an eating table. Thanks for sharing!
