  • This is a must for anyone buying flour products! I always stick my flour and biscuit mixes in the freezer for a few days to kill the bugs. Yes, they have eggs, larvae and sometimes even bugs and when you open the package they escape. I always put flour products in sealable containers or I have a vacuum sealer that actually reseals potato chip bags, cereal bags, etc plus you can vacuum seal. The best investment I ever made for the kitchen. You will most likely have to spray/bomb the house. These little buggers are incredibly hard to get rid of. I hope this helps!

Grain moths are a huge problem here in Florida. Most garden Centers sell a grain Moth trap (2 in a box, about 6 bucks) they use a sexual attractant and sticky glue inside that traps them. They work pretty good. Those moths also have the unique ability to chew through plastic bags to lay their eggs(which start as little worms and leave a web-like trail wherever they go). So it is best to use storage containers for ALL products made from or containing any form of grain.
