Re-purpose Old Window Into Decorative Gift

Over the past few months well, actually since I found out my Nephews wife was having a baby I have been working on her baby shower. I was the one who hosted a shower for Anna when she had Dominic and I really wanted to do this again for her. So for the past many months I have been working on the prep for this upcoming event. And people who know me, know that when I plan something I tend to over plan! I can't and will not do anything half way! So when it comes to this shower it will be big, it will be creative and it will be over the top!
I played around with a few different ideas for a theme but then finally settled on, "Breakfast at Tiffany's Baby Shower".
I suggested this idea to Anna and she immediately she fell in love with the idea. Now that I had the theme I had to decide on food, decorations and other party items. I slowly worked on the ideas as time got closer and things have been coming together nicely. Anna decided that she wanted the shower after the baby was born as to insure some guest could attend. This was good because it gave me an extra month to plan. Well Madilyn has arrived "Welcome to the Family Madilyn!" and now I am putting together a few last minute projects for the special day. You will remember baby Madilyn when I blogged about her baby pictures last week. Now I have a few project to share with you before I share the whole baby shower that will be held this Sunday. Oh I can't wait, I am so excited!
To stick with the Breakfast at Tiffany's Theme I used the Robins Egg Blue, lots of black damask and anything I could find that sparkled. We are having a diaper raffle at the shower and if someone brings a pack of diapers for the new mom they will be entered into a draw. So I wanted a nice gift but I did not want to spend too much money (as I already spent too much on the shower, I just could not help it there was so many cool things to fit in the theme). Anna suggested that I give away a re-purposed window, which is a great idea! Anna donated the window for this gift and I started to think about how I could tie it into the theme. As you may already know Anna is the owner of Shabby Seams and she re-purposes old windows as a small business you can read more about her here. Anna already had this window just lying around so it was a quick easy project to complete.

I really did not need to do much to the window as I wanted to still keep its old charm so I cleaned it up, added a little paint and added some scrapbook paper. Done!
