Find a swatch at your paint store that has this same tone of celery. Then go to the next darker color for the shutters and the 3rd darker color for the door. (If 2 & 3 does not appear to be dark enough for you, use 3 & 4.) Clean and scrape the steps and paint them a dark gray. to ground them.

Light Charcoal gray goes beautifully with celery green for the shutters, and a darker charcoal for the door..nearly black. The front steps I would scrape, wire brush, and then paint with the same color as the shutters with bold black stripes down the sides, and a black hand rail.

@Therese C , I agree with you 100%!!! And, white bits of trim to contrast! That would be what I would do for my own home, but Celery is almost a neutral, so even shades of light blue or navy would look nice, depending on if you want a more formal or casual feel...

What a sweet little home you have! Love the idea of dark and light charcoal for the shutters and trim work of the porch. I'd then move to a high gloss cranberry for the door to make it pop. It would look gorgeous. Whatever you decide, please please do before and after pictures…and have fun!

I love the cranberry suggestion as complements always pop. I love pop.

The front door looks 'hidden' so I agree with the POP of color there. Be bold!! The Cranberry is a good idea because of the brick steps. Then a dark gray for the shutters and don't forget that area above the door in the stoop cover!! That should get the gray also. Leave the trim and balusters white.

Plum shutters and trim, cream color for the moldings, a creamy mellow yellow for the front door for the "pop". (Just my opinion.) Have fun.

Brown would give it nice earthy feel.

Cranberry door and dark navy shutters. I think I would carry the navy to the posts and railing too . Even a navy door and cranberry shutters. The opposite of green on the color chart is red, so anything in a red tone. Such a sweet home that anything you choose would be nice.
