Fruit can be intimidating to the new gardener but here are some simple suggestions for adding delicious fruit bearing plants to your children's garden - or your grown up's garden!
Ever heard of gooseberries? Yes, the do have some thorns but life is full of thorns and children should learn all truth in the garden. Besides, gooseberry bushes make gooseberries. Totally worth it!
Ever heard of Alpine strawberries? They're not your typical garden strawberry and they grow as a ground cover but the taste? The taste is divine - these yellow ones in particular. See the post for more info and the secret flavor of this variety.
They do need a trellis of some sort but grapes are well worth the investment. With so many varieties to choose from, grapes are always appealing - especially to small munchers who can sneak bunches and then hide in the vines.
