5 Annual Veggies for the Children's Garden

Every child should have their bit of earth, even if its only a small corner. Here are some simple annual veggies you can grow with your children. Even if you only pick a few, it will be time well spent. Who needs TV, when we've got peas?!!!
Annual veggie crops are a good place to start, especially for the new gardener. They're biologically hardwired to finish their life cycles in one year so you don't have to worry about maintaining them indefinitely. Unlike children. Just sayin'.
Simple, fast growing crops like radishes are great for children to experiment with because they're pleasing to grow. We don't even like radishes and we grow them every year because they produce, they're gorgeous and the goats love them.
Crops like lettuce are easy to harvest and children, I've found, which much more readily eat a vegetable they grew. Have a picky eater? Have them grow a garden and watch that fade away as they age with their gardens.
