Easy as "Pi" Chair Makeover

I admired a chair at a neighbor's yard sale but passed it up thinking I didn't need another makeover project. When I saw the chair on the curb for the trash truck the next day, I couldn't dash across the street fast enough to save it. I refinished it and gave it a unique "Pi" seat cover. Why Pi? I've taught math, am the daughter of a math teacher, and have an engineer for a husband. This makeover was fun and almost as easy as calculating equations with Pi!
My Pi themed chair makeover appeals to my slightly nerdy side and to that of my slightly nerdy spouse. I’m wondering if my neighbor might want this chair back after I show him what I did with it.
This is the chair before. It was structurally sound but did have numerous nicks and scratches.
I stripped off the old finish, sanded it, and gave it two coats of Minwax Antique Oil Finish.
Pi was appliqued onto a drop cloth and used as the new seat cover.
