Decorating With A Patriotic Theme For Summer Events

I love the patriotic holidays we celebrate throughout the summer. This year I really got into it and started decorating in the spring. I decided to leave the decorations up throughout the summer. I found lots of patriotic decorations on sale and just kept adding on. I like to keep things simple. We live in the country so my style is relaxed, low country - easy and comfortable.
I decorate the mantle piece for each season. Summer's theme was patriotism.
I set this up for our Memorial Day family gathering. I found this red white and blue table cloth on sale for just dollars!
My red stools fit right in with the theme. Some of you may recognize the kitchen island - it's a re-purposed PB console (see my post on this).
I use the top of my kitchen cabinets as a display to change for the seasons as well. I keep the kitchen items as my basic display and add seasonal elements like the print shown here.
My husband and I are both veterans and never miss an opportunity to represent the flag! God bless America and those who fought to make her free.
We even had surprise guests for our Memorial Day gathering - our neighbor's horses
I used the peonies from my bulb garden as my center piece for our Memorial Day gathering.
These galvanized steel planters were perfect for showing off these peonies.
