Fridge won't make ice since putting in a new water filter

Going to sound strange however did you ensure that the icemaker is turned on? Additionally make sure that there are no kinks in the water line.

When your saying its not making ice, Do you mean there is no water filling the system? Do you have a water and ice dispenser in the door? If you do and water is coming out of the dispenser, then the issue is with the ice unit. If no water is coming out then its the filter. In your case if you do not have door system, and your not getting water there can be a few issues that cause this. The filter may not have been properly installed, which is the most likely issue. These cartridges oftentimes appear to been set properly when they are not. Simply remove the filter and re-install it again. When you have it out, check the end of it to assure all the packing has been removed as well. On some filters there are plastic caps that will prevent the water from exiting the system.

We just had this same issue last week with our Kenmore refrigerator/freezer. Come to find out it was the motor. Which I went onto the Kenmore Website and ordered one for $96.00 and it is making ice better than when we first got the fridge in 2006!! Good Luck!!
