I am looking for ideas for vinyl record album storage

We have approx 200 albums but can't find adequate placement for them and need ideas for compact but eye appealing display. All suggestions appreciated!! The stereo system is outdoors (in Fla) but the albums will be stored indoors.

If they are 12 x 12' or smaller, storage systems for scrapbooking will work. Also, a lateral file or regular file cabinet would work if you want them out of sight.

The IKEA 'Expedit' storage systems are perfect for album collectors. AND, comes in a variety of configurations so you can match to your space and needs. I think they just updated the 'expedit' but if you seach IKEA Expedit you'll be routed to the new units. It comes in many colors, but white would probably work great in Florida!

I have mine in some very sturdy high$ luggage purchased for little nothing at Goodwill. Well protected for sure! Just wish I could somehow make a mural without destroying the jackets!
I'm thinking of somehow making pockets on a Cal-King White Duvae(spelling ) also $6. and suspending from electrical conduit!

I had also thought of the scrap-book type solutions. Another idea would be to make a type of toy box - I found an example on Hometalk - here is the link: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/signing-up-to-park-store-hide-all-those-annoying-remote-controls-3895375 You could adjust it to meet your own requirements. You could also make color photocopies of some of your favorite covers, and decoupage them to the sides of the box, and keep them inside the box. Another idea - make very simple shadow boxes to accommodate about ten in each box, and hang them on the wall.

Fabric or rattan storage boxes could work.  IKEA and Target have some good items.

I had a huge album collection that I stored in file folder organizers from the office supply store. Albums sit vertically and are separated to prevent warping.
