Pool Noodle Lights

I sliced a pool noodle and attached to a string of outdoor lights to use on our patio umbrella. Haven't attached them yet- there's a wasp nest currently getting first dibs on the umbrella. :)

Slice the pool noodle into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices, doesn't have to be precise.

Attach to string of lights with wire or fishing line. These will be attached to our patio umbrella when I'm sure the wasps that built a nest on it are dead.

Hey Sheila, great idea. 4th of July is around the corner; maybe you'll want to add some red and white to this. You can change the colors for the holidays.

Thanks, everyone! There was a blogger challenge to come up with a project using pool noodles, and the profile of this pool noodle reminded me of flowers. :)

You are just toooooo much!! That's really using your Noodle girl!!! As to the wasps - did you read any of the post about hornets & wasp nests?? Someone swore by using WD 40 because the oil coating completely disabeled them and if you spray the nest the adults won't return to try and save the larvae. Also with the straw thingy - you can shoot from a pretty good distance and not run the risk of getting stung. The traditional wasp/hornet sprays just tick 'em off until it begins to take ...»
    effect.

Anyway, love this idea - I see flower noodles in my future!! ;~)

I have seen these pool noodles in just about every color! It would be cute to cut some and put them on wooden sqewers (sp) and put them in a vase for patio flowers! If they got dusty, just rinse them off! Color outside without having to worry!

This is one reason why I love Hometalk. You get such good ideas from others. I can now think of other ways to use the noodles. Great job!

Well, I have to admit, , I did SNEAK some hens and chicks over to my NICE neighbors' patio! She needed SOMETHING, she has red rock and concrete..and a bland tan mobilehome. I see it as I sit here for hours on HT!!! So i wanted to share , she loved them! Now, as for the other neighbor...hmmm How to get pool tube flowers on hers?

Good gravy, I sneaked MORE hens and chicks over to her little yard, where the rocks are, they are in little burro type of pots, and they are dying!. She is not watering them,!! Now, do I have to sneak over there and take them back? Or just let them die?

I have no idea, Susan. We've had those for years, but probably WalMart. I haven't seen any this shape this year, though.
