This farmhouse is circa 1700 and that calls for extra care in everything we do. The kitchen remodeling project started in fall of 2010 and primary goal was to preserve the look and feel of a rural kitchen while layering on high quality materials, carefully crafted custom cabinets, modern day appliances and several country comforts like this wine tasting room featured below.
Knotty Alder and paint grade maple cabinetry were custom crafted to my specifications. We had a distressed finish applied to most of the above the counter cabinets. We used a grey soapstone for the counter tops and backsplashes.
a six burner gas stove was a must for the client and it fits beautifully in this brick hearth specially designed for it. Stainless appliances for the refrigerator and dishwashers.
The kitchen island is were we used the maple cabinets painted with several coats of a special blended "Country White" paint. The butcher block top serves multiple uses

From the grey soapstone countertops, to the 2x6’s (Wild guess here) used on the brick hearth, I love everything about this! Beautiful room, and I bet the rest of the home doesn’t disappoint either!
